HiNation AB is now back in Sweden after a month in Zambia. During our trip we met a large number of organizations working to make life easier in rural areas in Zambia. 80% of Zambia’s population is still lacking access to the electrical grid – and even if you have electricity, you get hit regularly by unplanned or planned power outage, so-called “load shedding”. Every day, you see notices in the newspaper announcing that the electricity will be off, for example, 10 hours a day every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday to come. We met with many organizations, including in micro finance, and have high hopes of being able to contribute to a solution of electricity supply, both in urban and rural environments.
